Rebel is one of the sassiest gyms in town, with a cool vibe and an incredible team running the show. They offer 3 types of workouts; Ride (cycling), Reshape (HIIT) and Rumble (boxing), so a month subscription with 1Rebel would definitely shape you up nicely. The spaces are fitted with lights, high-end equipment and guaranteed awesome tunes accompanying every workout. For me the cherry on top comes from the showers and changing rooms, I genuinely spend longer in the changing rooms than in the workout itself. They offer blow dry services for women and shaves for men as well, so you can actually leave for a night out after the workout, or go to work looking tip top. 1Rebel offers several subscription packages, but also allow you to sign up for a single class for £20. The bundle packages are quite pricey so you will have to fork a chunk before you decide to commit. If you subscribe to their newsletter, you will get special offers with 20 or 10 % off on their packages which can make the class as cheap as £16. 1Rebel is an absolute must, it’s like a rave in gym clothes.

Tips

- Morning classes get super busy, so if you are off to work and desperate for a shower, rush first to the shower queue and take your clothes off in the shower (this is only necessary during the early classes pre 9 o’clock).

- Don’t be late, and I  know this seems like a given, but I have been to studios who have allowed me to join 15 mins late (if you know me, you’ll know I’m ALWAYS LATE). However, in 1Rebel they don’t want you to join a super hardcore class without a sufficient warm up, so the gist is, don’t be late.

- Delicious protein shakes are available at the 1Rebel Kitchen which you can order pre-workout or you can fill in some of the order cards in the changing rooms before hopping into the showers, this way you’ll have your protein ready for you by the time your done. This works best if you are in a rush and just want to grab and go. However, what I find is that actually pre-ordering your drink doesn’t taste as fresh, as the drinks sit in the fridge before you grab them which can cause separation.

- Different trainers have their own styles, and so the workout is slightly altered with different focuses, so do keep an eye out for who will be teaching the class, and find out whose style works for you.

- Clean gloves are offered for the Rumble classes, however if you have a thing for gloves which have been used by other people, or you are precious about your hands, make sure to bring your own boxing gloves and wraps before attending the class.

- If you are attending the Reshape class with a friend or two, make sure to book two treadmills beside each other as each person gets a specific allocation, so its not a come first serve first policy. In busy classes the rotation is divided between starters on the treadmills and starters on the bench, so if you are with a friend and you want to be in the same circuit make sure you request for both of you to start either on the treadmill, or the bench.

- 1Rebel has two locations, one at Broadgate and one right by the Gherkin, so when booking your class make sure you are aware of which venue the class is held in. Luckily they are not far from each other, and it’s approximately an 8 minute ‘fast pace walk’ from one to the next, but seriously don’t be late (refer back to tip number 2).

- Fresh wet cold towels are placed in a fridge by the entrance to the changing rooms, so keep an eye out for these lavender infused towels, they are an absolute delight.

- If you are attending the Reshape class, you must have the protective boxing wraps, you are able to buy cheap ones at Tiger and slip them into your gym bag.
